At Lesedi we are very aware of our Green Footprint.

Every day we use our planet’s resources. These resources are finite and, with a growing world population, increased industrialization (especially in the emerging economic giants, India, Brazil, China and others) and fossil fuel shortages we have to be more environmentally aware.

We have examined every aspect of our use of resources and are putting in increasingly effective programmes to reduce our impact on our planet. This is accompanied by ongoing research and education so that we can continue to increase our Green Footprint.

This includes:

· Reducing waste
· Water use and re-use
· Energy use and energy saving
· Recycling of organic products, paper, tins, glass and plastic
· Effective disposal of harmful matter
· Planting and protection of indigenous plants
· Removal of invasive alien plants
· Growing our own food and using locally grown food
· Buying refills rather than new ‘dispensers’
· Buying environmentally friendly products
· Buying from environmentally conscious suppliers
· Networking with other Green Footprint adherents
