A
big thankyou for making us so welcome when we visited Lesedi as
part of our educational trip to South Africa. It really was a
lovely opportunity to witness the cultures and sounds of Africa,
I especially loved the traditional dance show.
I
would recommend Lesedi to all my clients when they visit South
Africa.
Thankyou
once again.

Hi
there
I
recently had the pleasure of staying at your property as part
of a group hosted by Selling Long Haul Magazine in the UK and
the North West Tourism Board.
I
just wanted to pass on my heartfelt thanks to you all for hosting
us and for allowing us to stay at such a great place. It was a
fantastic opportunity to experience and to share time with some
great people and see an insight into your culture and heritage
- definitely one I wont forget in a hurry! The whole experience
has touched and changed me, from the stunning scenery, the people
and hospitality we received everywhere we went, and it's the experience
for me that I'll be selling onto my clients. I definitely have
the Africa bug and can't wait to come back! I will definitely
be recommending this as somewhere for my clients to visit.
Thank
you again and I hope to visit you again one day in the future!
Kind
regards,
Jany King.

Dear Gert van Rensburg and the Lesedi Cultural Village,
All
men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty
recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity:
but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act
on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.
Thomas E. Lawrence
Men
cannot go forward and dream however unless they know where they
have come from. I would thus like to take this opportunity to
thank you on behalf of Sparrow Schools for giving 47 of our learners
an opportunity to look into their cultural pasts and thus for
giving them a platform and foundation from which to launch their
dreams for the future.
The
motto at Sparrow Schools is: Sparrow Schools, giving you the roots
from which to grow and the wings to fly. Thanks to your generosity
in affording our learners with this experience we can now truly
say that we are giving them the roots from which to grow. Many
of the children from Sparrow schools come from orphanages and
care centres and thus have missed out on learning about their
cultural past from family members. This experience was thus key
to providing them with a snap shot of where they have come from.
The tour was a rich source of information for our learners and
on chatting with the learners on the way back to school I realised
that even those who live with their parents, had learnt many new
things from the day. So once again I thank you.
As
a token of our appreciation for your generosity, we will be placing
a story about this event in our next newsletter. This newsletter
is sent out to close to 400 people and thus we hope it will generate
valuable publicity for the Lesedi Cultural Village. We will send
you the newsletter as soon as it is ready. I was sorry I didn't
have the opportunity to meet you personally on Friday and extend
a thank you on behalf of the schools but I could see that Lesedi
is quite a popular tourist destination and thus you no doubt had
plenty on your hands.
I
hope our organisations can work together in the future. As you
will see below we offer a range of ways that people can make use
of Sparrow for their personal or business needs while benefiting
us in the process. Please feel free to contact me if you would
like to extend your involvement in any of these ways. Keep well.

Warm Regards,

Thank
you for being our guide. I enjoyed all that you said and I learnt
the Ndebele makes lovely geometric patterns.
Love,
Tomilola Ani-Mumuney
THANK
YOU for the brilliant tour. I loved your amazing dress you wore.
I hope I come their again. The traditional food was superb. I

Thank
you for being our tour guide. I really enjoyed Lesedi. I found
it amazing and interesting. I liked the Zulu village. I hope I
can come again and you as my tour guide. I learnt that Ndebele
got kidnapped when they got water or when they chopped wood to
get married.
Kind Regards
Charlene Birkenstock
Thank
you for showing us around Lesedi Cultural Village. I also learnt
a lot. The Zulu Village was my favourite one. I loved the spear.
I enjoyed the traditional meal too. I learned that the Pedi eat
Mopani worms and they add maize.
Kind Regards
Samir
Thank
you for a wonderful day you were the best guide I’ve ever
had. The food was delicious. It was something that was new to
me. I learned a lot. One thing that I learned was the Pedi men
wear kilts to remind them of the Scottish war. And I learned that
the Zulu doors are low so that you can bend in respect.
Kind Regards
Birame Sene
Our
trip to Lesedi Cultural Village was amazing. My favourite part
was eating the delicious food. It was a terrific experience. You
were an amazing tour guide. All the traditional things were exciting
to see. I got a brilliant picture of you. I wish I had such a
beautiful dress. Thank you so much. I learnt that the Basotho
tribe’s hat represents their mountain kingdom.
Kind Regards
Tori Ichikowitz
I love the hut. You were the
best guide. The food was delicious. I love pap and wors with tomato
and onion sauce. I wish we could come to Lesedi Cultural Village.
The bee hive huts were the best. I bought a spear. I learnt Labola
means Zulus must pay 11 cows to get married.
Kind Regards
James Rolle
I
think Lesedi is a superb, amazing, brilliant and magnificent place!
I learned Pedi enjoy Mapani worms.
Love,
Hershikka Tourani
The
Lesedi was great fun around the village. I like way you talking
and buying some spear and I think I learned a lot! I especially
loved Zulus huts because all the huts were round and it was horrible
that the people don’t do that to Zulu warriors. When you
see me can you say hello and be my guide? Please. Oh, and what
does isi mean in isiZulu and did you know Mopani worms I tried
to eat that, but I just cant eat them and I learned that if someone
got married they must give 2 cows.
Will Song.
Our
trip to Lesedi was fabulous especially with you as our tour guide.
I loved all the beadwork and what you were wearing. The traditional
food was superb. I enjoyed all the dances. I learnt plenty. I
learnt that the Pedi people wear kilts so they don’t forget
the British war.
Kind Regards
Holly Metlitzky
Lesedi
Cultural Village was the best school tour I’ve ever been
to and I learnt a whole lot about Zulus, Pedis, Xhosa, Ndebele
and Basothos and thank you for being our guide. I learnt that
Pedi people still wear Scottish kilts.
Regards
Zimmi Ndlovu
I
really had a brilliant time at Lesedi. It couldn’t be better
without you. I enjoyed the Zulu tribe. I had a great and educational
time. I enjoyed all the dancers. It was great. You were a good
guide. I learnt that the ladies sit on the right side so they
are protected.
Kind Regards
Imaan Mothupi
I
really appreciated you being our guide. I think the dances were
amazing. The different cultures were very interesting. Your traditional
food was delicious. I learnt that the Xhosas have to pay 26 cows
to get married.
Kind Regards
Athaliah Pillay
Our trip to Lesedi was so interesting.
My favourite part was the different dances, but the best dance
was the war dance. And Sara, thanks so, so much for being our
guide. You were really good. I learnt that the Pedi people eat
Mopani worms with maize.
Kind Regards
Brandon Trevis
Thank
you for being our guide and for making my birthday wonderful.
The food was delicious and the bracelet looked really pretty.
I learnt that the Xhosa ladies sit on the right hand side and
the men sit on the left side. They do this so that the door opens
on the right so the ladies will be behind the door and the enemy
will see the men.
Kind Regards
Victoria Cullen
The
tour was amazing. I really appreciate it. I hope I will be able
to see you again one day. The Xhosa people have to give 26 cattle
to marry a woman.
Regards
Paul Sidersky
Thank
you for the magnificent wonderful tour of Lesedi. I thoroughly
enjoyed it. I learnt how to say hello in 4 different languages
and I brought lots of items especially beadwork and weapons. Hope
to see you again. I learnt that Xhosa woman sit on the right because
when the enemy opens the door the woman would be behind the door.
Kind Regards
Jade Petzer
Thanks
for the unique tour at Lesedi and the tasty meal and I very much
enjoyed the tour throughout the Zulu Village. And I learnt a lot
about the Pedi, Xhosa, Basotho, Ndebele and especially the Zulu
Village and I got myself a few souvenirs. I was very surprised
when I heard the Xhosa people have to pay 26 labola to marry.
I look forward to our next African tour.
Kind Regards
Tristan Quin

Thank
you for being an outstanding guide. It was an experience to see
how people live. The traditional meal was tasty. Zulu s and the
Ndebele huts have colourful geometrical designs. Nelson Mandela
was born in the Eastern Cape. Mandela is a Xhosa. The spear making
area was lovely. I learnt something about Shaka Zulu. Thank you
very much for being a wonderful guide.

Beste
“GM”,
Ek
Alles
wat haar voorganger nie was nie.
Julle
moet vir Magna baie mooi oppas – sy is vir julle goud werd!!!
Groete

Finrite
Year End Function,
Hi
Jacinda,
Firstly,
I was amazed at the length you went to; to make sure our function
won’t be forgotten. I realize that your job was to manage
the function, but you did so much more then that for us, you made
us feel like your only clients and no-one else mattered.
To
you and your team I would like to congratulate and thank for a
fabulous evening. When we arrived, we were welcomed by warm and
friendly people. The little things like being greeted when walking
down a path by the staff of Lesedi, makes me feel valued and special.
Especially in a time where everyone just goes about on their own
without noticing the people around them.
The
venue was done exquisitely and to you I want to give special thanks.
You took the work load from me and did something I am sure I would
not have accomplished. You were like my knight in shinning amour.
To
all the staff that assisted with the evening – guys I am
in awe of your professionalism and loyalty. Every person took
pride in their duty for the evening – from management all
the way down. You made everyone feel at home and special.
A
friend of mine told me about the food at Lesedi – he was
not joking around. For an “Afrikaans meisie” like
myself who grew up with “rys, vleis en artapples”
you did an awesome meal. Playing around with the dishes satisfied
every taste and style. Thank you to the Lesedi chefs and everyone
who assisted with the meal.
Once
again, THANK YOU!
The
three tenors – every once in a while a person sees something
truly amazing. On Saturday night, I saw something truly amazing
and it was the three of you. Talent like that must be shared.
Thank you for sharing it with Finrite.
Lastly,
I would like to wish each and every staff member at Lesedi and
wonderfull Christmas – May you and your families be blessed
with lost of love, peace and happiness. May the year ahead bring
you all the joy and prosperity –so truly deserved!
Jacinda,
once again my deepest and sincerest thank you. Your kindness and
friendliness is much appreciated.

LESEDI/THANKS
- 26 October 2006
Dear
Rodney
Sandy
and I spent the most memorable and enjoyable night at Lesedi on
Saturday.
Admittedly
we went with mixed feelings about what to expect but what a pleasant
surprise. Your staff are friendly, outstanding and so hospitable.
We felt as if they were entertaining us personally in their own
homes! We received a warm welcome, enjoyed every aspect of the
cultural tour and will certainly recommend Lesedi to family and
friends. The audio visual was interesting and well presented.
Our
accommodation in the Zulu village was charming and very comfortable.
The appointments and furnishings have been very thoughtfully put
together with attention to detail.
Visiting
Lesedi has been such a unique experience and has left us with
a feeling of great pride for our country and for being Africans.
Congratulations
and thank you for affording us this wonderful opportunity.
Warmest
Regards,
Andy Webb
