To whom it may concern
Yesterday the Form One girls from Roedean
visited Lesedi for the school programme! We thoroughly
enjoyed our morning and would like to convey our sincere
appreciation for the wonderful experience that you provided
for our girls. They left very excited about all that they
had learnt and seen.
Elizabeth was the tour guide for my class
when we went around the cultural villages. She was very
well informed and presented the information wonderfully.
She was kind to the girls and told us very interesting
tit-bits of information! We enjoyed learning the different
words at each village. With the World Cup around the corner,
we have been teaching the girls about the unique qualities
of South Africa, our theme being, “It’s time
to Welcome the World”. We have been talking a lot
about being proud to be South African, and one of the most
important things that they have learnt and spoken about
is the respect that South Africans have for each others’ cultures.
I think that after yesterday’s visit, the girls have
a much deeper understanding of the nature of the differences
between the various cultures. That it stems from the way
of living through to religious beliefs etc.
Thank you, again, for the warm welcome
that you extended to our school. We hope to come back each
year with our Form Ones as we did have such a happy experience.
The food was also delicious, and really completed
the experience in a most enjoyable way!
Kindest Regards,
Julie Penrose

Dear Darren,
Thank you so much for your hospitality in
sponsoring the Hartbeespoort Tourism Association committee
workshop on the 6th January 2010. This event, being our first
committee meeting in 2010 has assisted us in getting on track
with our direction and “the way forward”.
We are confident that this association will grow from strength
to strength creating far more exposure of our wonderful country
and in turn improving tourism for South Africa.
We are grateful that companies such as Lesedi, share our
vision and assist us in making this happen.
You have a wonderful venue and the committee members now
have personal experience of your great venue.
Once again thank you.

Hi Craig
I
just wanted to thank you for the most wonderful night that
we spent at Lesedi. My daughter had a wonderful birthday party
with you guys. We were all very impressed and enjoyed everything.
We were very, very well treated. It was great to see so many
tourists at the evening performance and the dinner. We just
felt a little sad that we were the only guests staying over.
It is such a wonderful venue and it would be lovely if more
people utilized it.
Thanks
once again

I would like to thank you and your magnificent
staff for an incredible day at Lesedi Cultural Village yesterday.
Our Grade Twos (from Beaulieu Prep School) loved every minute
of it and have spoken about nothing else. As always the activities,
movie, talks and your interesting staff, made our day a memorable
experience.
A suggestion however: St David Marist was also
there with their Grade 3’s. When the children were divided
into groups to then go and view the different villages, the
groups were too big. Previously we have had 20 pupils in a
group – this has made the group more manageable and
a better rapport was had with their tour guide. Yesterday
there were 45 in the group. This resulted in the walk around
the different villages to be very quick and the rapport with
the guide was not as effective. Keeping the groups to about
25 in a group is far more educational and effective.
Thanks though for all that you did for us yesterday.
Yours sincerely

Rachel & I arrived so happy
that we saw a lot of South Africa, Victoria Falls, Lesotho
& Swaziland in 18 days. Thank you for giving us both a
complimentary show of your fabulous show & culture. Your
performers are so good & pleasant that I didn’t
notice that time has gone by so quickly. I am glad that I
was able to see this before I left. It will be a great place
to see & stay in your accommodations. The food was very
tasty & varied. I highly recommend that every one who
visits there not miss it. The beads were beautiful. My daughter
bought a whole set!!!!!! We also visited the cradle of humankind
& the museum is fantastic. Of course, we saw Soweto &
Mandela’s house safely. Thank you again.

Hi Jacinda,
Pardon my delayed note to thank you for our Lesedi
experience. The dance was great, the guys enjoyed it. I am
not sure if your staff told you, but we sat around the fire
place until midnight, we had fun. The rooms are very nice,
much more modern than one would expect. The service is good
for a 3 star establishment.
We are having our cocktail function for Pentravel
Agents next Thursday and will talk about Lesedi. If you want,
you can send us your brox for distribution. Do you still have
the 2 night stay voucher that we talked about?
Best,
Blacky

Hi Jacinda
All well?
Thanx for an interesting experience - one ALWAYS
learns something new - like the fact that the Basuto people
were the first to work on the mines, and why the Pedi wear
Scottish skirts!
The Nguni hut was fabulous!
Talk to you tomorrow about Meetings Africa.

I do hope that you are well and
the sun is still shining.
I just wanted to thank you again for taking us
to Lesidi during our holiday. Both myself, my husband and
daughter thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and we learnt
a great deal of the culture and heritage of South Africa.
The people were so friendly and welcoming, the
stories through dance were thrilling, the lunch was excellent
and the whole site gave us an insight to how SA had developed.
It was a truly marvelous experience and one not to be missed
on a trip to Johannesburg.
I can only say thank you once again.

Dear Jacinda
Good afternoon! Thank you so much for the great
day we had at Lesedi. It was great to be part of a normal
tour so we could get the "real feel" of it!
What could use a little "tweeking"
The map is not very clear. Added written directions
would also be a great idea for foreigners (or ladies like
us)
Sign boards / signage needs to be put up already
near the Lanseria Airport as this is the biggest landmark
to look out for on the long road. Perhaps a board saying x
kilo's straight ahead or something
A few wonderful comments:
We were surprised to hear there was a group of
120 people- it all ran so smoothly that we would have never
guessed! Well done
Lerato is a wonderful guide. He is well spoken
and puts great effort into his tour!
All the people we came across in the villages
are friendly and welcoming and very proud
The craft market and the small spaza is well
put together and very appealing. I would easily go home with
car full of curious (if only!).We like that the spaza area
was kept neat and clean
Welcome juice was perfect! It was so needed on
that hot day!
The dancing and drumming was amazing. We all
sat fixated to the wonderful dances and music! I could see
how the people were completely taken in and enjoying it thoroughly
Involving the guests is a super idea. Even those
that had two left feet were so wrapped up in the moment they
forget their two left feet!
The little lad who joined in on everything was
gorgeous. Lots of talent and a marvellous actor.
The food was delicious. Buffet / mass prepared
food has never appealed to me. I have always thought that
buffet's are bland or somewhat average. However, Mary and
I were pleasantly surprised that even though the quantity
was there, the quality was still there too and really good!
The foods fit in well with the theme and was prepared in a
way that it tasted exactly as it should! Lots of "hmmms"
from us. We also like the idea that the food was not "pretentious"
or "over the top". Nothing was cold, watery or runny,
and there was enough of everything for such a big group -
and again I was really chuffed. Lastly the Malva Pudding was
exceptional. Please thank however made it
So that is our combined feedback. Honestly Mary
and I had no idea and pictured something completely different.
Our perceptions have changed and we were wowed!
Thank you so much for having us around and for
the media packs too!
We hope to send you business in the near future
Kindest Regards

Spent a wonderful half day at Lesedi just before
returning home to the UK. It was a lovely way to end my stay
and enabled me to experience aspects of African culture I
simply would have missed out on otherwise. Had a fantastic
guide (zulu) and enjoyed the show near the end.
I would recommend it highly to anyone wanting
to experience a small piece of tribal culture in a friendly
and welcoming environment.
Thanks again - I'll treasure the memories

Dear Jacinda
I would just like to thank you very much for
the invitation on this past Tuesday to meet Kingsley.
It just so happens that I have two of his books
and have always found him to be a very interesting man.
Since meeting him, this is confirmed, but added
value that he is a gentleman, a humble man, a very wise man
and a very good man with many stories to tell, and someone
who should be a role model to many.
I am honored to have met him and would like to
thank personally and sincerely for the fantastic day that
I won’t forget.
Thanking you

Hi there
I recently had the pleasure
of staying at your property as part of a group hosted by Selling
Long Haul Magazine in the UK and the North West Tourism Board.
I just wanted to pass on
my heartfelt thanks to you all for hosting us and for allowing
us to stay at such a great place. It was a fantastic opportunity
to experience and to share time with some great people and
see an insight into your culture and heritage - definitely
one I wont forget in a hurry! The whole experience has touched
and changed me, from the stunning scenery, the people and
hospitality we received everywhere we went, and it's the experience
for me that I'll be selling onto my clients. I definitely
have the Africa bug and can't wait to come back! I will definitely
be recommending this as somewhere for my clients to visit.
Thank you again and I hope
to visit you again one day in the future!
Kind regards,
Jany King.

Dear Gert van Rensburg and the Lesedi Cultural Village,
All men dream, but not equally. Those
who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake
in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of
the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams
with open eyes, to make them possible.
Thomas E. Lawrence
Men cannot go forward and dream
however unless they know where they have come from. I would
thus like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf
of Sparrow Schools for giving 47 of our learners an opportunity
to look into their cultural pasts and thus for giving them
a platform and foundation from which to launch their dreams
for the future.
The motto at Sparrow Schools
is: Sparrow Schools, giving you the roots from which to grow
and the wings to fly. Thanks to your generosity in affording
our learners with this experience we can now truly say that
we are giving them the roots from which to grow. Many of the
children from Sparrow schools come from orphanages and care
centres and thus have missed out on learning about their cultural
past from family members. This experience was thus key to
providing them with a snap shot of where they have come from.
The tour was a rich source of information for our learners
and on chatting with the learners on the way back to school
I realised that even those who live with their parents, had
learnt many new things from the day. So once again I thank
you.
As a token of our appreciation
for your generosity, we will be placing a story about this
event in our next newsletter. This newsletter is sent out
to close to 400 people and thus we hope it will generate valuable
publicity for the Lesedi Cultural Village. We will send you
the newsletter as soon as it is ready. I was sorry I didn't
have the opportunity to meet you personally on Friday and
extend a thank you on behalf of the schools but I could see
that Lesedi is quite a popular tourist destination and thus
you no doubt had plenty on your hands.
I hope our organisations can
work together in the future. As you will see below we offer
a range of ways that people can make use of Sparrow for their
personal or business needs while benefiting us in the process.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to extend
your involvement in any of these ways. Keep well.

Thank you for being our tour
guide. I really enjoyed Lesedi. I found it amazing and interesting.
I liked the Zulu village. I hope I can come again and you

they got water or when they chopped wood to get married.

Thank you for showing us around
Lesedi Cultural Village. I also learnt a lot. The Zulu Village
was my favourite one. I loved the spear. I enjoyed the traditional
meal too. I learned that the Pedi eat Mopani worms and they
add maize.

Thank you for a wonderful day
you were the best guide I’ve ever had. The food was
delicious. It was something that was new to me. I learned
a lot. One thing that I learned was the Pedi men wear kilts
to remind them of the Scottish war. And I learned that the
Zulu doors are low so that you can bend in respect.

Our trip to Lesedi Cultural Village
was amazing. My favourite part was eating the delicious food.
It was a terrific experience. You were an amazing tour guide.
All the traditional things were exciting to see. I got a brilliant
picture of you. I wish I had such a beautiful dress. Thank
you so much. I learnt that the Basotho tribe’s hat represents
their mountain kingdom.
